you have to train your dog and not let the dog train you. We use a dog pen to help with training. If the dog is bad we right away scold her and then put her into the pen telling her what she did bad. Beleive it or not your dog understands, they are not dumb. You can not scold a dog if you do not catcher it doing something right away. Scolding a dog who has done something earlier will get you no where. It will look at you like your crazy and not understand what it did wrong. Keeping up with training your dog on a daily basis will make things easier on you and your dog. Always love your dog if it has done wrong or right and it will love you back just the same
The only thing that our dog has us trained to do is let her out to do her duties.

Ha ha - you've described a perfect example of dogs training humans!
Flop will get my attention by bringing me pieces of paper, pens etc to exchange them for treats and shoulder skritches. If I ignore him, he'll start scratching the coffee table, which gets me every time. Good dog!

My Chihuahua has me trained very well. lol If I am in my recliner, he will come over and stare up at me like,"OK Mom. You know I cant jump that high." So I have to put the recline down so he can jump up. Is he satisfied?? Of course not. He scoots up to my face and lays his cheek next to my mouth so I can give him kisses. lol Then he scratches at the blanket. So I have to lift the blanket up and let him crawl under.
My favorite quote," My dog isnt spoiled. He just has me well trained "

My dogs have trained me to rub their tummys whenever they roll over, slip them table scraps when they sit under the table and wag their tails, let them lick my face whenever I put it in reach, and most importantly take any clothes off that my sister has put on them :P

he pushes me to the edge of the bed at night. he is an 8 pound mini dach, and he stretches across the bed, rather than length-wise. i have no idea why he does this, but i'm so scared to crush him, that i move. my husband just moves him, but i just can't.
