Not usually, that is a cosmetic reason, you can whiten your teeth yourself by using baking soda and peroxide, in a small amout, make a paste and brush your teeth, and then finish the job with a tooth whitening tooth paste. That will help

no but it is really effective... I go britesmile, which is only available in New York and Massachusetts so it's a small price to pay to look great
