I've always been an active person, but for the past month I've up'ed my gym routine. I go almost everyday and about two or three weeks ago I stoped being sore afterwords. I always give myself 24 hours of resting my muscles before I go work out again, could I still be overdoing it so my muscles are degenerating instead of building up?

we break down our muscles during work time and they repair and grow during rest time...are you sweating and burning out a muscle during lifting time...you could try low weight higher reps or maybe you are on a plateau...a plateau can be broken with an excess amt of weight for one work out it shocks you out of complacency

First of all you don't specify what kind of exercises you are doing. So we can assume that you are using some sort of resistance training on a machine or using weights. The muscle fibres in the areas you target get stressed and suffer tiny tears When they are healing it causes the muscle to build slightly - they re-grow stronger than before to compensate for the perceived new challenges. These tears also cause you to feel some slight pain as they repair.
If you have repeatedly exercised an area and it has built up a resistance to that exercise and weight amount, then it will no longer 'tear and repair'. You need to consistently but gradually increase the resistance or change the exercises so your body is always being challenged and will respond by consuming more fuel and rebuilding bigger and better.
Don't worry - you wont become muscle bound any time soon - it takes a long time of dedicated effort to make significant changes. But that's the way it works.

If you are doing CV work, either run more, run faster or both. If you are lifting weights, you need to lift heavier weights. For the bench press, find your 1 rep max (ask for someone to support you).

When you find the weight you can only lift once, try lifting 80% of that between 5-7 times if you want to gain size or around 60% 10-12 times to tone the muscle. Do these sets 3 times and focus on 2 muscle groups 3 times a week and you will be as sore as want!

The key is lift more, lift more, lift more.

I would guess you are to the point where you need to increase a bit. Sounds like what you are doing is no longer a strain. Check out this information on exercise routines, it may help.
