The 6 team were penalized points during the title run in 2002 when Tony Stewart won. They ran a race with an unapproved coil spring in the car. I believe it was a half coil too long according the the rule book.
They were also penalized way back in the 80s for having a carburetor plate bolted on instead of welded. That was one of the most Chevy biased penalties ever imposed by NASCAR and it ended up costing Mark, Roush and Ford the championship to Big E.

Megan1610 What paper did you read that in. Only 4 drivers were penalized. Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth Lost 50 points and Elliot Sadler and Scott Riggs Lost 25 points. Nascar has said nothin about Mark Martin getting Penalized. So No Mark didn't Get Penalized.
