I only have a BA with Honours, the foundation course for University biology and chemistry I got straight A's at, I'd like to go get an MSc in physics but I agree that shouldn't count - yet.

I've got over 140 on iq tests... I've studied evolutionary biology - not just 'the selfish gene' but 'the extended phenotype' works by Darwin and Axelrod - Fischer's classic 'the genetical theory of natural selection', the textbook by Mark Ridley. I understand genetic and phylogenetic cladistics. I go to natural history museums and I pay attention.

Who exactly are you talking about?

Tests repeatedly show there is an inverse correlation between intelligence and religiosity.

*I take offense because you're implying atheists are ignorant and or stupid and scientifically illiterate compared to the average religious person when the reverse is true. I admit I'm occasionally embarrassed by people who don't understand evolution and defend it dogmatically as if they've accepted an argument from authority though its fairly rare.*

I have no idea why I am taking your bait. I think if you did some research you would find that atheists and agnostics have an higher than average IQ. I actually majored in theology and philosophy, so I have a pretty good knowledge of the bible and the christian religion. I have a casual science background with my work in ornithology. I am a well respected birder, who has worked on numerous bird related projects, taught field identification classes, lead many birding trips across my state. Is that enough for you? My IQ is about 135, not super high, but well above average. And, best of all, I know how to use spell check, which seems too difficult for the average fundamentalist on these boards.

That is the base of atheist, the least you know the better is so the more secure that because we shouldn't Judge any one its smart, in which which case smartness is a feeling?, perhaps the basic philosophy of all of this is that if we don't know nothing, there is nothing no one can say about such a self responsibilities as/with been Human?, Intelligence?, a/o any responsibilities we my have as living Matter's, to Improve our conditions, especially those physical conditions that in Fact thy are not, perfectly physical but just Material, as they not only see it, unwilling and perhaps (I'm sure), once again, in opposition and against it; to see the true about the hand of God, willing to intervene, and allow the substances of matter to achieved an evolution and changes that Not for mutations, over and over again, have mining's, God works and desires that for the Living Energy to become, and pursue a perfect physicality, and not just stay as a eternal mutation condition of the Matter!, and the substances of matter's, it needs for their way of thinking, become extinct or a man made lie, because their God (Satan) said so.<> I call this an Analysis, of the atheist Philosophy, If with all due respect for all atheists, can I call it that, for an atheist words have not essences they are only substances. though Substances are of the property of matter, and energies of matter, and essences of the product of Energies, Living and positived energies, that have gone beyon the matter in an effort to become perfect and not by foolowing the extrict Law's of nature but the Universal law's, that estipulate and coomprihend that Matter can never be destroy but only achieved Changes, the same Law that concern the energies. To as God desires Stop Mutation, through Evolution.

Well, I only have a bachelors in psychology and I'm going back to school now doing the pre-med courses to go to med school. I've only taken biology, physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, calculus, etc. I'm no Stephen Hawkings I admit, but I know a lot more about science than most Christians know about the Bible. Hell, I know a lot more about the Bible than most Christians.

I don't need to "prove" anything. This is not a competition.

nice avatar i like star trek here is what the founder said:

"I condemn false prophets, I condemn the effort to take away the power of rational decision, to drain people of their free will -- and a hell of a lot of money in the bargain. Religions vary in their degree of idiocy, but I reject them all. For most people, religion is nothing more than a substitute for a malfunctioning brain." - Gene Roddenberry

Why don't you discuss the subject at hand instead of making broad assumptions? Do you want me to list educated Atheists?

I agree there are idiots on both sides of this imaginary fence. State of the world, or the intertubes, which is like a reflection of the world. God, that's a depressing thought.
