You havent seen them, but you chose to believe in them, and you think just because you believe youre saved.

How can the actions of someone else save you?

No ones plea can save you infront of a judge when youre accused of a felony.

Do we benefit by others dying for freedom in this country? Do we benefit by others 'inventing' things to change our lives? Do felons benefit by the work of a lawyer or other protest groups? Need I go on presently?

Well, the answer would take awhile, so here is the short version.
Basically, it is like being in front of a judge, and he has sentenced you to prison. Then, (i know this can't happen in this country) another person steps up to take your place. The judge allows it and you are free.
Now, the reason that Jesus could do this for all mankind, is based on the scales of pure justice. The reason we all die is because Adam sinned. Before he sinned, he was perfect in the eyes of god. After, he was imperfect. As such, there was only one possible way to correct the situation. A perfect man would have to offer his life up. That man, was Jesus. As Jesus did not have an earthly Father, he was born perfect. After living his life in perfect obedience, he willingly gave it up. In this way the scales of perfect justice have been balanced. And that is how the acts of some one else save.

Actually, you are wrong about the felony plea. In the Civil War, there was a young man who was going to be shot for treason. His father stepped up to the judge and asked to exchange places with his son because his son was married and had children to take care of. The son was released and the man took his place and was executed.

However, between the lines you are speaking of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Could another person take my place, take my sins and atone for them? Jesus was not only human, but He was God. God can do anything.

Oh, contrare my dear. Depends on who it is that is acting in your behalf. If it is the Son of God, it means a lot more than if I were to act for you or anyone else. And if you are accused of a felony, depends on how good the lawyer is as I have seen as you have, people get off that is guilty and everyone knows it.

If you believe in God all things will be given to you even Salvation.

Hebrews 11:1-3,6
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Only God can do this. And he did this for us on Calvary on that Cross. There is documentation outside of the Bible that will substantiate this. We are not following clever fables. I wouldn't follow something that I couldn't prove. And the evidence is out there, it's up to us to find it.

Our next life is determined by what we do in this one - not what anyone else does (whoever they claim to be).
