I am not worried as I have had them done before, but a friend of mine was not informed her eyes were going to be dilated and she was alone at the eye doctor. She was on her way out of the office and fell and broke her arm due to not being able to see.

I do think that they have to let you know the process of what they will be doing, but it is also something that they need to do in order to see what prescription you will need, etc. But if your worried, let me assure you, it is not something that hurts at all, just a little surprising when a teensy tinsy drop of water films over your eye. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt.
