I don't believe they are considering they don't believe in a SPIRIT!

Believing in the power of the human mind and will to do great things is all that is required to be spiritual. To be religious involves believing in a religion. Not the same thing. Atheists, by definition, do not believe in a god. That doesn't mean they don't believe in the spirituality of human beings or even that they don't have a religious belief that is independent of a god (most don't and most think that religion in silly so don't start freaking out on me). Strictly speaking, all people who can connect with another human being through love are spiritual.

The search for a viable explanation of life is a spiritual journey no matter what your beliefs. The stories of god are but one explanation, and when studied, are pretty hard to reconcile as true. Therefore an 'atheist' looks elsewhere. You can not turn your back on something you have deemed to be inaccurate. You simply accept that you were misled intentionally or not and move on.

In their own right they are quite religious. Atheism takes more faith to believe in it than Christianity. Reason:
Atheism is an Absolute Negative. Anyone who has studied logic or philosophy knows that an absolute negative is indefensible.

There are the non-theistic religions which have no god:
atheism (both strong and weak) and agnosticism, as well as certain Eastern religions including Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. It also has links and similarities to Christian existentialism.

I am spritual, but not religious. I mean do you thing anyone knos true meaning...science or religion? Id say no. I beleive there is truth and meaning and the universe.

Since it takes much more faith NOT to believe in God than it does to believe in Him, then I would think, by that criterion, they are VERY spiritual.....theBerean. Wait a minute, did you say SPITEFUL or SPIRITUAL?
