Catholics do not mourn during Lent because of our salvation. That does not make sense.

Lent is a season of very serious soul searching and repentance. Knowledge that we have sinned and have offended God who is loving and compassionate is something that we show sorrow and mourning for.

We rejoice during Easter that Jesus has conquered Death and has gained for us everlasting life.

There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.

There is nothing wrong with it.
We Presbyterians observe it but not as Catholics do.
We are happy because that is our salvation.
Romanist catholics mourn for it
