Mosquito repellant creams/lotions for the body. Will be quite effective.

Also mosquito liquid repellants should help.

Make sure there is no standing water in your general living area which is a known attraction for mosquitoes. There are chemicals to control them, and mosquitoe repellents that you apply to the skin. Other than that, if you live in an area that is warm and near water, rivers and wooded areas, the only solution is moving.

A Natural solution is to encourage The Dragon Flies to stay in your area. You can pound bamboo sticks around the area and they will have a place to land and look for the mosquito's.
(close to a pond or stream) Or you just have to make sure to get rid of any stagnate water laying around : examples: in old tires, cans, flower pots with bottoms, areas on the ground where water doesn't drain out...
Remember...just because your area is clean, the neighbor's yards might not be.

Keep surroundings clean and not to allow water stored in discarded containers or any other medium. That is breeding place for the mosquito's. After the sunset burn anti mosquito sticks to keep them away.

eliminate objects which contain standing water such as old tires or buckets. They provide breeding places for them and they won't be eliminated without eliminating their places of breeding and hatching. if you can provide homes for bats they work quite well to devour many mosquitoes.

mosquitoes are attracted to body heat and heartbeat but mostly carbon dioxide which is exhaled by their prey. So if you don't exhale they might not find you... but then that kind of defeats the purpose.

you will never get "rid" of skeeters. The best way to have them leave you alone is to either rub pure lemon or citrus juice juice on your skin, or use a reppellant that contains Deet. The juice from a fresh cut lemon lasts about an hour only but is completely effective and of course contains no chemicals such as the deet in repellants.
