Answers that certain groups of people in America are obsessed with so called "greek" fraternities/sororities and they can't even spell in greek, either ancient or modern (let alone the fact that using a dictionary is not the best way to do so, even if you know the grammar and language rules, because the way of thinking and the meaning of words in ancient times was different, compared to the contemporary one.). It should be "Ωφελούμεν Υπηρέτιδες"/"ΩΦΕΛΟΥΜΕΝ ΥΠΗΡΕΤΙΔΕΣ", or, transcribed in latin characters, ofeloumen ypiretides, or something like that. The pronunciation in modern greek is "oh-feh-LOO-mehn ee-pee-REH-tee-thehs" and the phrase should mean (although I have not lived in the past to be sure about it) "we pay our duty as servants". Tell them a greek one said so, a greek one who knows enough ancient greek to spot such mistakes.
