Several washes, NOT using ordinary soap:
1. Squeeze out fresh lemon juice and wash the face with it. It's an astringent, cleanser, and bacteriacide.
2. If scrubbing is indicated, the cheapest abrasive is LAVA, the hand soap, which contains particles of pumice.
3. Noxzema Skin Cream has been around a long time, is inexpensive, and better for your skin than soap.
4. Rubbing alcohol on a ball of cotton, spread all over the face.

Someone on here suggested I try Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel and I found it very good. Debenhams usually have a Clinique Counter and so do some Superdrug stores. Alternatively if you dont fancy going to the shop for it you may get in on e-bay.

I don't know what happened to me - but I've always had REALLY sensative skin and lots of acne.
I've tried all the over-the-counter items and they burned like crazy! I have been using prescription medications as well and ran out one month. I decided to just try using Aveeno products (the only one I can use with my sensative skin). I used the Aveeno Clear Complextion wash in the morning and evening after I exfoliate. Then I use the Aveeno calming facial moisterizer after each wash. I have had 1 pimple since! I highly recommend using lotion to heal your skin and make it happy instead of making it mad with salycitic acid.

Yes I just can't think of the exact name but I bought it for my daughter the other day and it works it's made by almay and it states on the bottle it's for acne it costs 6.96 you get it in the makeup department at walmart and it really does work. and it only takes a drop for each pimple a tiny drop wash your face every morning and apply it then the same thing every nite before you go to bed. It works over nite

Your doctor can prescribe much more effective creams and lotions than are available over the counter. Also, a course of low dose antibiotics over a few months can improve acne dramatically. You may also try laser treatment. My daughter had two treatments (£150 each) and her face was much improved. Ask your doctor to recommend a good clinic. If you are female, the oral contraceptive pill can improve spots. Good luck.

Hi Paddy,
The best thing to do with acne, spots and pimples.
Do not buy clearasil, it will make your skin even worse and can result in red skin and making spots even worse.....
I've tried a number of things-ive found as i didnt have that many it best not to go mad on things (i.e using too many products), ive used most of them and none of them seem to do anything for me. I never usually go for cheap things but recently i just brought the (Tesco, Vitamin E [[Clenser]]), this has made my skin so much better, and has cleared up some of them spots. I would reccomend that at the moment [[Cleanse, Tone and Moisterise]].
Good Luck, hope it works for you as it did for me.

BIRTH CONTROL PILLS-- for just a month your hormones will be out of whack but after that, your skin will DRAMATICALLY clear up!! Some people get them perscribed just for that reason!! it really works because it controls your hormones and gets them in a regular cycle and your body is more stable.
