there was red on the paper after defacating. a bit later i got a headache (which isn't unusual for me) accompanied by inner ear pain. my left side around to my back also started to have a dull pain.

Use common sense. No one here is a doctor, even if they were, and cannot diagnose you over the net. Go see a damned doctor.

I'm pretty sure the bleeding you experienced has nothing to do with your headache, earache, or back pain. Finding a small amount of blood on toilet paper after a bowel movement is not unusual. Only painless, unexplained rectal bleeding is important.

Sound like you've got more than one health issue going on. Make an appointment with your doctor.
