What is this NASCAR you speak of?
It is NOT real racing. The Champ Car World Series is REAL racing - and the racing is good.

CASCAR is probably currently the closest it comes. I like the CASCAR body styles better, they're alot closer to 'true' stock based configurations, the Dodge Charger really does look like a Dodge Charger. USAC had a fairly strong stock car series up until the early-1980's. The USAC rules were slightly different, allowing cars within in a 4 year period and smaller wheelbased cars making this a very diverse field of cars running. Saw this series compete at the late Ontario Motor Speedway and put on an extremely good show! Richard Petty has a USAC 500-mile win at Pocono in 1972 which is NOT counted in his 200 victories.

Well, NASCAR doesn't own the sport of closed car racing. Something along the lines of German touring car racing or Australian supercars, but on ovals would be exciting. How about racing stock cars with high-tech V6s? The lap times would likely be about the same or faster than NASCAR, and the constructors would be able to show off their expertise again.

Yeah! it would be fan-tastic for everybody. The NASCAR bigwigs are acting more like dictators every new season. They must be liberals. A little bit of cheating puts the spark in spark plugs! But cheaters eventually get caught. That's racing. Champ, Formula, and GT racing are more exciting to watch since the God of stock cars died in 2001. That man knew how to race! It's a shame that future fans won't get to see the ultimate driver's skills again. Jr.s OK but he ain't his daddy.

There already is. It's called GT Racing: cars by Corvette, Porsche, Saleen, Ferrari, Dodge, Aston Martin and several other manufacturers build cars to specific rules but look nothing alike.
Look for the American Le Mans Series on your TV.

We can only pray.
GT racing is my passion but I suppose that if NASCAR would race on a road circuit it would be worth watching. DP is also interesting but hard to find televised events.

NASCAR is the most popular racing sport. It is way more interesting than F1 or any other racing.
