Becoming more intellegent will just mean that we will devise more and more clever ways of killing each other. It is only going to stop when Christ returns. He said that it will get worse and worse until He does....theBerean

Well for one thing, war and killing never had anything to the amount of brains one had or didnt have. Most of your murderers and mass murderes were intelligent people given over to all manner of sinfullness, and its vices. Until man is delivered from the sinful nature there will be wars, killings, murders, etc. etc. becoming more "intelligent" will not stop them - only in Christ will these stop and when Christ comes again will wars be finished till the end of the age, when Christ finally throws Satan and his minions into Hell forever and ever will it occur - until then - these things will occur and no matter of intelligence, planning, programs, national or civil governments can change it.

If we you mean mankind, I doubt that it will ever completely go away. There will always be people who flock to leaders who use violence as a tool to fruther there ends. For example in the current War on Terrorism, we have one group of people who believe it is their devine obligation to convert everyone to Islam, kill them or enslave them (jihad). As long as these type of ideologies exist, there will always be violence.
The history of mankind kind is the history of the use of force. Peace protesters often times say war never solves anything. This is childish, and denies the results of history.
War has proceeded nearly every major political and cultural change in the history of the world. War ended Nazi emperialism. It over-threw the Russian Czars, and replaced it with with an even more repressive communist regime. Fidel Castro came to power by war. Slavery in the United States was ended by war, and the Union was perserved by war. It is unlikely that this will change anytime in the near future. That is why the United States must always have an excellent military.
Is war good or bad? This is trick question that "peace protesters" often pose. The obvious answer is that war is bad, because lots of people die, property is destroyed, and survivors lives are left in turmoil. Yet this fails to consider the alternative of not having war or the price of loosing wars.
During WWII, had the allies come to terms with the Axis rather than defeating them, genocidal slaughters in Europe and Asia would have continued for many more years. Nazism would remain a legitimate world political force, rather than being tossed on the historical dung-heap of failed ideologies. Had the United States and her Europian allies supported Nationalist China, rather than turning there backs, the atrocities of Asian communism would have likely never occurred.
Had the Union negotiated peace with the Confedracy, the United States as we know it today would not exist. One wonders what that might have meant to world history. I, for one, cannot imagine it would have been a good thing.
In our current situation in Iraq, if the war effort fails we can expect to see a host of negative consequences. First, our enemies who are the enemies of freedom and democracy will be emboldened. People are always encouraged by success, and to believe otherwise is an exercise in denial. Second, it is likely that the Iraqi state would fail degenerating into tribal chaos much like most of sub-Saharan Africa. This would provide yet another haven for terrorist and criminals. Third, who would ever trust the word of the United States again? Among our stated goals when entering Iraq was to establish a thriving "Islamic" democracy in the middle-east*. If we betray those who trusted us to be good to our word, how can any group ever trust us again.
PS. Sorry for any misspellings. For some reason the spell checker would not work, so I had to do it the old fashioned way with a dictionary. I may have missed a few words.
*The only true democracy in the middle-east now is Israel.

The Bible says Israel will cry "peace, peace" and there is no peace until Christ returns. The Muslims are brother fighting against brother - Shiites versus Sunni. This is even true in Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan and of course Iraq. The Bible says there will be wars and rumors of wars until Christ returns. Right before Christ returns the earth will be in birth pangs where all things increase in quantity and quality.

No.
There's a CHANCE we could but we most likely won't take it. It is in our design, sadly, to be divisive & petty. In our design to see oneself as better than the others AKA ego. We've made a little change in our evolution, true, but mostly we ain't much different than the so-called "cavemen" of legend. And examples are all around you. We are too attracted to power for power's sake. Individuals can make the change but like Tommy Lee Jones' line in Men In Black "a person is smart...people are dumb panicky animals and you know it". One can change but the whole-at-large will most likely remain the same. I wish we'd figure it out too but it's never gonna happen. One dividing line disappears, another will be there to take its place. Because we like the drama it seems. The universe was designed in conflict. Order Vs. Chaos.

War is part of humanity. Wars are usually fought over resources and that will never change, but the holy wars of Christianity and Islam will one day either kill each other off or stop due to ever-decreasing numbers (I hope).

Yes but only when Christ returns to rule the earth and all the evil ones are cast into the lake of fire. Then the lion will lay down with the lamb.

Yes.if we choose to.
But war is only needful for defense not for offense.
The last intervention is from God.
He is Supreme.
And the last day for us all, the time for our LOrd Jesus Christ to come here.
