They want you to do all the right things and not to make the mistakes that they did.

Unfortunately we learn from our mistakes and that is why young people need to have a little freedom. But remember, some mistakes can lead to a lifetime of consequences.

You need to show more responsibility and maturity if you wish to have more freedom. Doing things for yourself by cleaning your room, doing homework, keeping out of trouble can lead to a lot of trust between you and your parents. Then you will find your parents giving you more freedom.

Parents like to feel like if they control there children they will protect them from just about everything. Sometimes they lose track of just how nagging they can sound but they mean the best, most times. Consider also the stress of your parents from work to home and keeping track of there bills and needs, it can get crazy. Best to act overly concerned about them take time to ask your parents how there day is and pick up after yourself. And always ask if there is someting they need you to do. You'd be surprise at how much they back off, they just like to be appreciated. Then you can speak up and say when you aren't feeling appreciated or when you don't feel right on how they are speaking to you, just speak to them with respect. Sometimes parents get caught up in a bad routine of handling things. Kids don't come with a manual and it's a never ending job, imagine if you worked a 24 hour job. It' best if you lay low for awhile and don' talk back, that's the worst. Look around at what you have and take a minute to appreciate what you have.

I don't know about your parents, but me i still tell my kids what to do. They are older and know what to do but I guess when they are babies & we are teaching them things you just get in the habit of it then it takes a long time to break that habit.
Now the annoying thing I do that one on purpose { In a joking way } because when they move out and have to live in the real world their is going to be people that will annoy them and I want to make sure they keep their kool.
I need to know for myself they will be able to handle any type of person cause their is alot of crazy people out their.

Because it is their job. Your parent's job is to make you the best person they can by the time you are on your own. If you were left to raise yourself, you would be doing only what you enjoy instead doing what is best for you. This means your parents have to tell you to go to bed at a decent hour, to pick up your stuff, to eat the right foods, to do your chores, to do your homework, and to do your best in school.

Cause believe it or not they do know what's best for you. If they are out right telling you that's not cool (unless you are in some kind of trouble) tell them you would rather discuss the situation and decide as a group what is best. They will be impressed at your maturity and be more open to your views.

They love you and want to set some rules and boundaries for you so that you don't end up doing something bad. I know you may not like having them tell you want you have to do but one day you will understand why they did.

Love your parents, atleast you have parents. My parents died so I have to stay at my abusive stepfather house. I don't get cared for, I don't get feed and he beats me up everyday. So be thankful that you have parents that cared, feed and love you.
