After x-rays revealed nothing wrong, my one-month-long constant and dull pain in my molar remained unexplained. My dentist said some teeth cause pain for no reason, even though there's absolutely nothing wrong with the teeth. He said he'll pull the tooth if I ask him to. I'm still undecided.

I'd have the tooth pulled, or go to another dentist, if possible. I suffered for months, the dentist even said it could be caused by a sinus infection. Got anti-biotics from doc, still had tooth ache. Referred to a ear, nose, and throat specialist who told me to go back to dentist. Had the tooth pulled, no more pain. Even dentists get it wrong

it could be root sensitivity. i also have a very sensitive tooth. sensitivity to heat indicates you might need a root canal. i also learned last weekend when i went to the dentist and mentioned my problem....that grinding your teeth at night can also cause tooth sensitivity and soreness in your jaw, headaches, can lead to root canals and all kinds of problems with your teeth. it's actually quite serious. so...i'm working on getting a bite splint so i can stop grinding my teeth cuz i get bad headaches. if you do this, you might want to consider looking into that.

There is a nerve at the bottom of the jaw. I got the same pain whenever I was stressed. I had multiple x-rays and exams, but nothing showed up.

I was seeing a great dentist. My solution:Get rid of the stress. I divorced my ex who was giving me angst. Result: No more toothaches!

get a new dentist, you may need a root canal if the tooth is sensitive to heat or cold. possibly some periodontal work could be in your future
