It sounds like you need to exfoliate your entire body and put on a lotion after showering and at night before bed.

I am assuming that you are scratching because your skin itches.
In the winter our skin is dry from heat and low humidity.

Get yourself a loofah or a scrubbing mitt to use in the shower to exfoliate your body. Then slather lotion on every inch of your body. This should calm the itching. You could use some first aid cream on the scratches to speed the healing. You must be using sharp finger nails to make actual scratches.

Remember scrub with a scrubbing mitt, it gets rid of all of the dead skin and then use plenty of lovely lotion.

I use to have this too. I would just scratch away because it felt sooooo good. My problem was that my skin is terribly dry. It was worse in the winter time. I changed my soap to a moisterizer and I starting applying lotion religiously. My legs healed nicely and I still moisterize to this day.

Use lots of lotion. Cetaphil is good and can buy generic version for dry skin. The scratch marks are obviously from dry skin. They will lessen as you moisturize more often.
