you have to deal with it.after all you are dealing with the public.to keep your head when everone around you are loseing theirs makes for a good officer!

I know some officers that do get annoyed with it. I know some that say, oh well. Yet, I always say what did the police do to you? Hmm.. lets see, oh yeah, do you remember that time when a parked your car at the grocery store not too long ago, and no one broke into it - yeah, that's because of cops.. So you're insulting them why?

That's what I think.

You have to have a thick skin and not take it personal. You just have to understand that usually your interacting with people in a highly emotional state, and that they need to vent. It's not against you personally, they don't even know you on a personal level...they are just lashing out at the authority figure that you represent.

If your going to let name calling get to you, then your in the wrong profession
