Religion not only can withstand, but will thrive thanks to it. The spread of ideals that a Faith claims will resonate throught a population like a rock rippling inside the river.
There are however limitations. As new and more complex technology develops, the Faiths will have to take a stand on which is acceptable practise and what isn't.
For instance, we can be able to make a time machine. This time machine would be able to go back into time and see the old prophets. Some might argue to leave them alone. Others might want you to forward an agenda which has not been fulfilled.
Here, there is a bind of opinions but also a fear of revelation that the prophets that were renowned are only ordinary people (or possibly insane)
Religion has been able to adapt to any circumstances. Its just lies in the appeal by the public. If the public loses interest in the Faith, than the Faith dies. Thats the basis of survival and destruction. Aslong as followers wish to continue to live and breath religion, than it will survive.
cheers

Technology itself is helping Religion. Technology is helping spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. He died and then God raised Him to life. All we need to do is believe and accept this. All we need to do is ask forgiveness and accept that Jesus Christ shed His blood for us! Technology in the form of satellite TV is taking Jesus to the farthest corners of the world. The internet is a great tool to tell others about Jesus!

yes, technology has nothing to do with religion.
religion has also withstood science for generations.
religions biggest threat is societal changes, apathy, and growing awareness of the origins of religions as control mechanisms created by 'men' not 'gods' to have power over the masses.

Religions have taken technology and run with it for their own benefit. Most tv evangelist have their own website...much better way to get to the public and get more money coming in....

I will say perhaps. I do believe that technology will put an end to fundementalism in the future. I think religion, if it survives, will have to adapt. I don't forsee this happening next week, you understand. I think it will be very gradual. Some people are very resistant to change.

It has stood for thousands of years against all logic and rational thinking, so technology isnt going to have much luck.

I hope that religion will become obsolete is the near future. Those idiotic religious books have nothing to do with God.

I would say 'of course it can't' but then again, I was also sure as can be that Bush would never get re-elected. It is hard to estimate the gullibility of the human race.
