I know this probably seems like a silly question. My husband has never cooked for me since I have known him. When I told him that it would be nice for him to cook me a meal once in a while he said he cooks for me all the time when he grills. I don't consider grilling a steak and a baked potato a home cooked meal. What do you think?

learn to appreciate a good thing when you see it,if you want some frills, suggest a salad & end with stewed fruit & icecream, your favourite flavour. Will that be ok as a home cooked meal, anything that comes to the table without you having to contribute is a blessing, count them while they appear.

If you turn your grill on and the flames come out it's cooking. If you eat it raw, it's not cooking. And yes, it is a silly question.

Of course it's cooking. If that's what he's comfortable with, encourage him to try grilling a variety of foods--fish, chicken, veggies, etc.--the list is endless. Praise him: don't demean him.
As long as the food is not charred, it's one of the healthiest forms of cooking.

I would put it down working at a QSR (Quick Service Rest.) is good experience. Put it down and think about how it applies to your desired position. Always remember lots of people have worked for Mcdonald's so maybe you will be lucky and get a job with someone who has done that as well. One tip though its McDonald's not mcdonalds. Dress and act professional and show energy and you should get a job.

He's cooking it, it's being done at home. That's exactly what it is.

If this is more about having him having the thoughtfulness to go out of the norm and prepare you something nice once in a while, that's one thing.

But demeaning a form of cooking because you feel it's too simple and primitive is definitely ignorant.

Of course it's cooking, and turning this down, or making disparaging comments, will only reduce the chance of him cooking again
