I am so right there with you! I have an 8 month Border Collie! Can't wait to start agility training with her, she's got the drive to do well at it.

First, I just love them all! I had a Border Collie/Austrailian Sheperd mix that was very close to my heart. His name was King. Once in a great while, he would take off ( I am sure it was during mating season), I would be so worried. I would be out there walking the road, up by the woods, wherever I could think of and he was nowhere to be found. Then, maybe two or three hours later, there he was on the doorstep with a present. By present I mean, he always seemed to bring me something when he did this. Once it ws a dead snake, that, I could have done without, then another time he brought me a turtle shell, which I kept and still have after all these years. It is my rememberance of him.He was very intelligent. He did many tricks, was very easy to train. I used to keep his snacks in a bottom drawer in the kitchen, I had to move them. He figured out how to open the drawer and close it after sneaking a snack. Whew! Im getting teary eyed here! I have had many special pets throughout my lifetime. My first special pet was a german sheperd mix named Princess, she was my best friend. I had an Irish once that actually saved my sons ( they were young at the time) and myself from a fire that could have started in our home. She woke me up and alerted me to an electrical problem that would have been a fire if I had not awakened. All of my pets have been very special to me. I love and loved them dearly, and they all have a very special place in my heart. My favorite Breed? The one I have at the moment I have it.

I have had 3 different breeds throughout my life. Chocolate Labs, English Sheepdog and now an English Bulldog---I think the Bulldog has been the most fun dog to have but the sheepdog and lab were easier to train.

Personally I love all dogs, but I love the muts the best. I have had a Lahasa Apso, a German Short Hair Pointer, and an English Setter, plus 2 muts. Pure breds tend to be more hyper and harder to train, but muts seem to become more like humans, easy to train, and very loveable.

Maltese because that's what I have. LOL! Really I do love them. Wonderful house and lap dog. I think all single hair (non-shedding) dogs are great. But actually, I've only met a few dogs in my lifetime that I didn't like and it didn't have much to do with breed.
