I live in Ontario. I want to sell my car. How do I go about doing that? I have a 2001 HONDA CRV, AWD, with 151,000 clicks on it... what would be an adequate asking price? I know that they have a high buy back. Everything in this car is running smoothly, I just put in new breaks and new tires. Other features: standard, stereo, pwr locks and windows. Does anyone have any experience in this and what do I do to have a successful sale without any dealers?

Hi, I don't know what your car is worth but, as for as selling it goes here are some things you can do. You can put it on craigslist for one. It's free and when you go to there site I believe it will explain how to go about posting it. Or you can go to your local convenient store and ask about a little publication called Buy&Sell or the Little Nickle, you can addvertise free in these also. Another option is the classified adds of your local news paper but they normally charge a fee. Now, once you have decided on a price and have it addvertised you will begin to get phone calls , people will call and ask questions like; how many miles does it have on it and things of that nature. To find-out what the car is worth you can go to bluebook.com or some place like that to find out what the blue book value is. Now, lets say someone looks at your car and decides to buy it, this is what you do.You and the buyer will go to the Department of motor vihicles with your title and they will explain how you will need to sign the title and write the buyer a bill of sale. The buyer will at that time pay taxes on the transaction and rigister the car into his or her name relieving you of responsibillaty. Thats how we do it here in the U.S. anyway. I hope this is helpful, good luck.

you need to find the right asking price. do a nationwide search for your car on autotrader.com and get the average price for a car of your year and miles(or clicks). then go a couple hundred over that to leave negotiating room. as far as listing it, u can try craigslist and postaroo. if the freebies dont work, try autotrader. it isnt that expensive. you should have all your repair/oil change records in order. do a chronological writeup of everything you have had done so that the new buyer knows u took care of your vehicle. good luck.

Just go to the car showroom or say to others that your car is for sale.
