I personally did until I quit. I drank a bottle each night for about ten years and then stopped cold for a year. Then I started again and graduated (over the next 14 years) to 12 drinks a day including beer and Scotch. Then I went to AA and have been sober now for 7 years. I quit cold turkey this last time too, but am happy to say that with the exception of a hangover on the last night (the equivalent of a bottle of Scotch/Drambuie mix) I suffered no DT's at all. But that's probably due to my preferrence for eating bananas (which contain a lot of potassium and when eaten in large enough quantities can prevent convulsions).

Hi, you may get some physical symptoms, but well done for deciding to stop drinking such large amount. I would suggest visiting a health shop and get some milk thistle, this helps detoxify the liver. This should help your body recover a lot quicker, and symptoms will be less. I would also take a multivitamin supplements with probiotics in them and lots of vitamin c. Also drink plenty of water Good luck lol

Yes and no. Everyone's reaction to alcohol and their reaction to quitting it is specific to the individual. This amount and frequency is enough to produce withdrawl effects in some. Alcohol is the only drug that produces withdrawls sufficient to kill. Be be prepared to see a doctor to have your blood pressure and other vitals monitored. The withdrawls can easily be controlled with drugs such as Librium or Klonipin.

Yes. I would also guess the person has the illness of alcoholism. If the person has a problem quiting, they should get some assistance. Talk to a friend, doctor, AA. Anyone that will help support the change.

First off, every night? A whole bottle? Yes!! You would definitely go through with drawls. You would get the shakes... If you haven't seen it before, you should watch "Intervention".... They have people who experience it. It's a good (but crazy) show.
