Cats are very resourceful and independent. It will most likely find it's way back home. First of all, I am not being mean here, but you should never let your animal roam. Of course it may have gotten out by accident, that happens. I understand that. There is something called cat Lukemia (spelling?) , it, as I understand , can be transfered from one cat to another. That is why I say, don't let it roam. I hope you find your pet safe and sound, I really do. I love animals and I know how it feels to lose one. Have you put some signs up around the neighborhood? If you have a picture, print that on the sign also. Set some food out for your kitty and some water. ( you may wind up with a few strays on your porch, but at least that may help.) Good luck sweetie, I do hope your Kitty comes home.

One thing that could happend to your cat going in and out is that she could became pregnant. Obviously this will happend only if she is not castrated. There are, also, several infeccious deseases that can be transmited between cats specially during territorial fights and copulation. Some of this deseases has no specific treatmen and no preventive vaccination such as the feline inmunodeficiency virus an the feline leukemia virus, in adition she may adquire diferent kinds of parasites.

1. is she spayed. If not, she may very well have wondered off in search of a mate. could she have been pregnant? She could have hidden herself to have them. if that is the case you will see her mostly at night when she comes out to feed and in 4 - 5 weeks she will bring them with her.

2. She may have went nosing around somewhere and got herself locked in a garage or something.

3. Depending on how old she is and if she was sick, cats will wonder off to be alone to pass if they are outside cats. Of course this would be the worst scenario.

An outside cat will rome alot also, male or female they have a territory to patrol and protect from other kitties.

continue to put food out as it is a good sign as to wether or not she's been home at all, if you notice that it has been eaten at, she is around, she just doesn't want to be found just yet.

I have a male that lives outside, simply will not come in even when it is cold. he will go for a few days and not come home, then he will usually show up, the last few times, he's been beaten up as he is probably fighting over the girls so I doctor him and welcome him back to the porch. I know people are going to chastise me for him being outside, but he simply does not want and will not come in. I do however leave the basement door cracked open so he can get in out of the cold and we have a bed protected from the weather for him on the porch. He will often not show up for days, but his food will be eaten at and I know that way that he has been here as it's winter and the skunks, possums and other critters have gone to sleep. He has brought several females and will stay with them until they run him off, then he comes home to mom for awhile.

Cats are pretty resourceful and can survive without shelter and can hunt for their own food. I once had a cat when I was a child that went missing for a whole year and came back so never loose hope.

She may get found but I am sure she will come back because all cats know there way back, and I know that because I read about cats a lot.
