Species of fish include walleye, muskellunge, carp, crappies, largemouth and smallmouth bass and many others.

Pymatuning is known for its fine walleye fishing and has the reputation of being one of the best fishing lakes in the state. Anglers will also find good catches of crappie, black bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Either an Ohio or Pennsylvania fishing license is required for boat fishing while bank fishing requires a license from the applicable state.

with the different species of fish that are present in this lake, all kinds of bait or lures will work.really depends on what u are fishing for.

the fish will more than likely be in spawn or post spawn by then.meaning they will be readily available to catch.if in post spawn.now if they are in spawn it may be a little trickier.

for musky i would have plenty of big inline spinners, crank baits
for smallmouth i would recomend small crankbaits that look like crawdads, small jigs, small spinners,in various colors, tube baits,a good assortment of sizes and colors.and i would recomend fishing them texas rig with small 1/8 oz to 1/4 oz weights

for crappie i would use either minnows, small shiners, and of course tiny little jigs

walleye i would use crankbaits.i recomend either bomber or mann baits

Texasman nailed it......... I'd just add some bucktail jigs in yellow,
brown and black for walleye (smallmouth will hit them also)
