I went to that party and there was that guy, who announced loudly,
for all to hear, that I was "just tolerable" and not good looking
enough to dance with.
He is tall and good-looking himself, but what rights did he have to
be so rude to me?
Elizabeth Bennet

No body has the right to be rude to you, and most importantly you should not ALLOW him to be rude to you. I would have comfronted him with a quick witted comment and enjoyed embarrassing him.

Keep your chin up and remember GIRLS can always outwit a man because we think with our heads not our penis.

Yes, he is absolutely rude.

He is obviously suffering some kind of self-esteem issues for an inadequacy that isn't seen with the naked eye. (maybe he's got a small one in his pants??) The only people who feel the need to put others down like that are the ones who are not comfortable within their own skin. They try to build themselves up by lashing out. It's typical, and I wouldn't give it a second thought.

You've got more class in your pinky finger than he'll ever have. (and your pinky finger is probably bigger than ... well, you get the picture!)

Just hold your head up high and move right along. He's not worth your time.

Trust me on this one honey, he is one insecure individual. They say you know a mans true merit, intellegence, when he treats a woman with the utmost respect, when no one else is there to witness it. Don't be embarassed, he did you a HUGE favor. No matter what, he will always be the insecure jerk he always was, it's just now you know it, & can avoid him at all costs.
When he does find that perfect woman of his dreams, & one that he has to okay it with his friends for their own approval. I'm sure a few years down the road, when he wants to settle down.
I'm sure his approving buddies will oblige themselves, if yo know what I mean...

This person was extremely rude. He doesn't have a right to be rude to you, but this doesn't stop him. People like this are miserable with themselves, and will not find true happiness. Just try to keep a positive attitude, if anyone listened or believed his comment, they are not worth knowing either!

Yes he is rude. But if I were him, I would have announced that you were insane instead.

Elizabeth Bennet is a frickin character concocted by Jane Austen!

sounds to me like this guy is plagued with his own insecurities and the reality is nobody is really impressed by such brash disrespect and rudeness. Why he did it is not important. What is important is it really had nothing to do with you at all. Keep on truckin Elizabeth!!!

" No one can make you feel inferior without your permission" .....Eleanor Roosevelt..

This guy has good packaging but nothing inside that even smacks of good manners . Just ignore him.... you out class him in every way !!! He's not even near being tolerable !!!

Knee him in the nuts, or announce loudly that wasn't his opinion when he tried to grope you the other night.

Hey what a coincidence! I was just studying Pride and Prejudice right now for English Literature. Well, maybe at thost times it would be considered rude, because nowadays many people can be ruder than that and no one cares. That's what made Elizabeth consider him "arrogant"and proud..
Well thanks for reminding me to go back study literature! bye.
