I handle them like any other passenger - tell them to remain in their seats, keep their seat belts fastened, and don't distract me during critical operations (especially when in departure or arrival, at low altitudes). They're just people, the same as you and I, and the only VIP aboard an aircraft is the pilot (or pilots, as may be). They can go back to being "VIPs" after landing and departing my aircraft.
