I doubt it. If they were the world be gone already. There are 1.5 billion Muslims. I am Christian but I just can't believe that about Muslims. Muslims are everywhere but suicide bombers are not. Could this just be a hateful stereotype that promotes conflict or am I wrong?

Thank you for having common sense. It's a shame that many people twist Islam. Also, those people who claim that they are Muslims who commit suicide are not really Muslims. Allah condemns killing other people and suicide. Islam is a religion of peace and not terror. I wish more people would realize this and actually know that those fools that committing terror in the name of Islam aren't following the true Islam. May Allah bless us all.
BTW, there are Muslims who condemn terrorism. Check out these websites.

Of course not. Obviously there aren't 1.5 billion suicide bombers. Most Muslims are normal people who just want to live their lives in peace. Yes it is a hateful stereotype.

You answered your own question.
If most Muslims are suicide bombers, then that means that a majority of them have already bombed themselves to death, or are planning to. But they're still around.
I think you know what the answer is. It's just plain stereotyping that media often propagates. Same old prejudices, and media, perhaps unwittingly, spreads it. That African-Americans are lazy, that Russians are evil, that the slightest negative attitude or remark about Jews amounts to the vilest form of anti-Semitism, that Christians (whether Protestant or Catholic) are hypocrites, and many others of that type.
It works the other way around, as doubtless, you know. Media is also responsible for promoting the so-called alternative lifestyle in various guises (same-sex unions as valid and licit, abortion as mere termination of pregnancy, that freedom carries no responsibilities, and so on). It's important therefore that we use our critical faculties so as not to be swayed by the superficial and materialistic culture media is ramming down the throats of the uneducated, those lacking in culture, and those incapable of clear thinking.

It's a hateful stereotype that has it's basis in the fact that there is a very high unemployment rate in many of the Islamic countries. The suicide bombers do not have jobs or income. They are swayed by their own economic plight and their families get money if they become jihadists.

* You are assuming all Muslims are suicidal bombers. that is false, but those who are suicidal bombers are muslims following a very dangerous doctrine. I hear that not all Muslims follow this doctrine, which I assume is true because if not like you say the world would be gone already.

That is like lumping all christians with David Koresh or Jim Jones, these men were dangerous to follow, but they were Christians, but not all Christians are like that.*

The only Muslims causing trouble in the world are extremists, and they comprise about 5% of all Muslims (if that). The Muslims I know in South Africa are complaining bitterly (justifiably so) that it is the extremists that are giving Muslims (Islam) such a bad name. It's the old syndrome of one apple is bad, so all apples must be bad. The KKK is the same story - they are supposed to be Christian - but they don't behave like Christians. The average Muslim and the average Christian are civilized people, but you will find the extremist in both groups.

Of course not! There are Muslims who are suicide bombers, but these are a small handful- member of Al-Qaeda or other terrorist groups! Most muslims are normal people who just want to live their life in peace. And I'm not muslim, I'm just not clueless.

You are right, David. I worked with a number of Muslims when I lived in Dallas. Right after 9/11 I went to them and told them that I didn't blame them. They were terrified that they were going to be harmed. It was ridiculous.

I think we need to ask ourselves why weren't there bombings 100 years ago? There were Muslims. The ability to make bombs or other weapons was there. This is a recent thing. Maybe we need to take a look at whats causing people to be so unhappy with the west that they are willing to kill themselves. Don't tell me its the 72 virgins thing. If that was the case it would have been happening in the past.

in my point of view , being a suicide bomber does not depend on One's religion, it actually depend on the nature of this person......i also think that these suicide bombers happen to be Muslims....and the evidence is just what u said "Muslims are everywhere but suicide bombers are not"......:)

This is just a hateful stereotype to promote conflict.I have several muslim friends. They are too good.We just generalize based on few suicide bombers.I would say most of the muslims are very good and generous people.
