You need to see a doctor about this. Now you are 16 you are old enough to go on your own accord and without consulting your parents.
There could be a whole range of causes for this and it may be that you have a blood vessel that is weak and consequently ruptures and requires attention. If so you may very well get this sorted for good.
I would not be concerned other than your nosebleeds seem to be quite major from what you describe and their frequency is too excessive to ignore.
Please make an appointment

I am 65 but as a child and teen, I also had nose bleeds. My guess is that the stretching from growth of the skin causes it to pop tiny capillaries and bleed.

When this happens you should pack you nose with tissue and lay down, head back and a small cold pack over your nose that should help it to coagulate and stop bleeding.

You are not really overreacting, just not doing the right thing when it does happen. If you lay down with your head arched back over a pillow it should discourage the dizziness and headache.

As ski n and tissues grown to let you get taller and become an adult, the skin and capillaries and tissue has to keep stretching and growing.

Are you and your parents tall? I am 5'7" and had this problem a lot as a teen.

It is really not so serious. If you are concerned Google nose bleeds and see what you find. But I think when you stop growing the nose bleeds should stop.

I would use a little Vaseline in my nose for lubrication. The dry winter air makes our nasal passages much more susceptible to bleeding . I had one the other day.

Take care they will go away.

Best Wishes.

I've had that same problem (I'm 22 now). I had both nostrils cauterized 11 times each when I was younger. Then at 13 I had laser cautery done hoping that it would provide a permanent solution. Well as of 18 months now, I've been bleeding again. You need to go see a doctor. Your parents need to start acting like parents. Nosebleeds that go on for so long are dangerous. You can try putting neosporin lightly around the inside of your nostrils to heal any tears in the flesh, and perhaps getting a humidifier if the air is dry where you are at.

Don't you get a regular doctor check up? You should see one at least every other year at your age. You are old enough to be your own advocate. Ask the doctor about it. It can be several things. The number one reason for most people is 'picking their nose.' You need to make sure you aren't irritating it. Also, dry winter air makes this worse. A humidifier in your bedroom might help. You may have a very close vein in your nose that is easily irritated, that is why you should address this with your doctor. In some cases they need to intervene. You are getting them a lot and could become anemic. You might also consider taking a daily kids vitamin with iron, like flintstones vitamins.

Hi, my son has been having nosebleeds since he was an infant and now he is 6. One or more things can be attributed to nosebleeds, one of them is dryness. So if this is the case, you need to get a humidifier. Another remedy is put some Vaseline in your nostrils, there is also another ointment in pharmacies that moistens the inside of the nostril. There is also a procedure that you might have to undergo at the Dr. still better check with your ENT as soon as you can especially that you are getting dizzy. Hope you feel better soon :)

Get to a doctor soon!!! You may have high blood pressure, or worst. Lay off the salt, and high fat. Stop going out to eat. Old MacDonald will get ya. Seriously, get to a doctor quickly.

If they are from dryness another thing you can try is rosewater spray. you can buy it at any pharmacy and it is just a quick squirt up each nostril whenever needed. I would try and get your parents to take you to the Dr.s though. You shouldn't have to suffer not knowing when one will occur.

definatly go and see your doctor about it, Sharon was getting nose bleeds and the also bleeding gums this turned out to be caused by low blood platlet levels which could have been fatal if not treated, so we advise seeing your doctor a.s.a.p.

Put a humidifier in your room and see how that effects you... just to be on the safe side though, please go see a doctor just to make sure you don't have something more serious than a dry septum !
