If the Abrahamic religions dominant in the West are spiritually and scientifically out of touch with the modern world, what should the nature of our modern religions be like? Considering our knowledge of science (physics, chemistry, etc.) what should the guiding mythology of our times be?

Dolores, "religion" is "mythology", and I absolutely respect the goal of the Baha'i Faith.

Meera, I think you're right on.

Angel I agree with you completely, what do you think our Truth will be like?

Your question was going well, until the word "mythology." Replace that word with "religion" and it would be perfect.

To answer your question in a nutshell.... the Baha'i Faith. Take a look and see how modern it is! The Baha'i Faith is the world's youngests monotheistic religion, beginning in 1844 Iran.

If any teaching by any religion fails the test of reason and logic based on our personal experience, as a general rule, that teaching is likely a false teaching. God is reasonable and logical. It is just that our science inspite of its recent rapid advances has yet to come to the level of Truth.

In every religion, there is truth, but much more are only half-true and even false. Everyone must learn to discern which is which. Today, there are new revelations and New Teachings in every field of knowledge. Those who seek with their minds and hearts open will be able to see the True Light.

Learning is progressive. The Teachings undergo continuous upgrading. To spiritual progress, there is no end.

God is the etrenal energy of the universe. All life is a part of this energy. When we die we return to the energy. Life is like water, there are many drops, but are all part of one water mass. God is not a creator, there is no need for a creator since time is illusion. I things meditation and entheogenic substances such as morning glory seeds, san peyote cacti, and certain mushrooms can help u feel god. When u truley feel god the feeling is undrescrible, it is feeling of great warmth, inner peace, and understanding. God is everything. God is in the space between us. God is in the table in front of you. God is everything and everywhere and everyone

On the emphasis on science/physics, chemistry - you could almost put Masonry in that category.
