With the onslaught of half the population of eastern Europe upon England over the last three years, it seems fewer and fewer people (in terms of population percentage) in England are able to speak English. I live in a small and quiet town in rural England and even we have been overrun by an army of non-English-speaking Polish nationals. Some mornings you wonder whether you've been mysteriously transported to Warsaw in your sleep as you walk through the town to the tune of Polski being spoken on every street. If you try to befriend them, you get a broken utterance of 'no English', and they turn their backs.

I am for the multiculturalism in the UK. But i understand where ur coming from..However, i have to clarify something here-- Polish people are not "unsociable". The ones that u see wandering the streets or meet at various places like factories etc etc belong to a specific group of Poles. Those are usually narrow-minded simple ppl from small towns and/or villages in Poland, ppl who perhaps have never been abroad, ppl who couldnt afford learning English in their country and maybe ppl who wouldnt even try to as they're narrow-minded. Such ppl represent Polish ppl which i think is unfair, as there are loads of brilliant Poles in the UK, who study or have graduated and get great jobs. But becoz they're so great they arent noticed as they pass for non Polish. Im just annoyed when i see too many primitive ppl who spoil the image of Poles in the British society.

not only the language, but the culture we used to have until it was replaced and "integrated" with others without any consultation from the English.
Did we get a vote on wanting a Multicultural society?, no we didn't, and look at the mess we're in now. As a result we are losing our identity. anyone who is even slightly patriotic is now branded a racist by the PC soft head brigade.

In fact, being a true English Patriot, flying the Union Flag, having pride in our previous achievements is as taboo as being a paedophile in the eyes of some of the "trendys" from the City.

How long will it be before the PC lot tell us to stop having Rememberance Sunday for fear it will offend Minorities because they don't recognise it?. We can't celebrate Christmas because it might offend some of the other religions in the school. If they don't like it, then why don't they f'uck off.

Eastern European gangs, Islamic Extremists, Prostitution, Drugs and Crime.

Thanks Blair, you've managed to completely destroy the English identity, rip the soul from Britain and sell it out in the name of "Multiculturalism".

i find the Poles are unsociable also, but every-one is too concerned with the Muslims to realise it. However English is the most spoken language on this planet even with the influx of immigrants. Maybe u should go to Australia where Aborigine is the second tongue of the nation.

Give them a chance, they've only been here a short while. They will learn English and their kids will speak it as a first language. If anything it is their own language which will die out in the long run.

Makes you wonder what the Pakistanis and Indians thought when hordes of English speaking soldiers arrived and took over their country.

No.
No English THEN No planes would fly.
don't u know,
ENGLISH IS UNIVERSAL!
air-travel wouldn't work unless every1 spoke the same language.
hence the Joke about finding Air-flight manuals in Arabic after 9/11.
they don't produce them in any other language but English!

although i don't c why we will b putting up Polish road-signs here in the UK, i thought they couldn't get jobs unless they could read, write & speak English?

Brits really should speak up about it before it is too late. I'm wondering if your government is bringing in massive numbers of immigrants, and destroying your country, for the same reason ours is—cheap labor and extra coins in the coffers, so to speak.

Fight back! Don't accept the charge of racism or xenophobia. It isn't the immigrants' fault usually...it's your government. You have a right to keep the identity of your country. Call, write, fax, email your 'leaders'. \0/
