I don't think many people like to admit to this one but in my humble opinion I think people are 'naturally' selfish, it doesn't come easy to listen to others instead of doing what 'I' want. In society these days everything is based around being self-sufficient we no longer need others so much compared to war times when everyone pulled together as no-body had anything so everyone had to share and be a bit selfless. It's funny how in the modern age, we're all so independant and 'want-less' really, but I bet there's a lot more lonely, needless, idle, lazy people now-a-days and that's a shame.

Trust is a tough thing to show to other people. A lot of people see it as a sign of weakness.

Believe me, not everyone is selfish. In fact, there are lots of loving people out there. People that deserve your trust.

Some are; but many are warm, welcoming and giving by nature. The broad claim you make in your statement is actually rather insulting to we who are not.

The desire to be ahead of others at least to some extent I think. Part of the overall competitive spirit I believe.

They aren't.

We've got to look after ourselves first of all, but after that most people like to help others if they can.
