A very fine question. But you are not going to throw around money this way. You need to provide people with professions and not cash.. Like farmers need machineries and seeds.. Every profession requires some tools and you will be providing these in order to be self-sufficient for the future. Cash gets wiped out easily....

You need to setup an organization with full transparency and reach-out to those who are in "need". Start with the most poverished nations and up....

I personally will donate 10$ a day if this comes into reality.

You can bet that someone would find a way to tap 29 dollars and 50 cents of your 30 dollars. However...

There are excellent charity organizations out there such as Save the Children and Christian Children's fund that use donations of about that very amount, 30 dollars a month, to improve the quality of life in many parts of the world.

In an ideal world, that would be really great. Unfortunately, there are so many people out there who would scam for much less than that even, so a lot of the money would be wasted and the genuine efforts to help would go unseen. Perhaps if the government re-prioritized it's spending, if we could all stop focusing on war and weapons and destruction, if we could take care of our own first THEN help others, if we could actually help people/families individually to learn how to, and want to learn how to, end their own poverty, we could end poverty. But, that would also be in an ideal world, huh? Nice thought though, I have to agree.

I read an article a few years back about a church in the South that took donations for a particular family and everyone donated until all of that families bills were paid, then moved onto the next family. We could all help each other if we were willing to try.

The bigger question is .....

If people are willing to freely give one dollar, to a homeless person they pass on the street; without wondering where or on what the money will be spent?

It takes much more than throwing money around to improve the conditions of nations suffering from poverty. First of all if any money should be spent, it should be spent on basic resources and most of all -education. Education will allow these nations to sprout on their own.

"us people"--good grief. I guess I'm not included in "us" because I "struggle with financial issues." But your fine question denotes you as a very good humanist.
