Are you asking what I think about the country, or the war? I have no problem with the country. We have built strong relationships with Germany and Japan. We need to forgive and move on.
About the war, it was war. There was a lot of good and bad decisions then. The war could have been won if "there was a lot less talk and a lot more action." But, it accomplished our primary objection. Communism was not stopped then, but the war contributed to the falling apart of Russia. And, that is why we have terrorists. But, that is another story.

Well economically, it's developing since the Vietnamese government finally caved in & joined WTO, which leads to the fact that everything is now cheaper & more affordable, & I'm talking about electronic imported items. I guess you can say the rich ones are wealthy super rich & the less-fortunate are at a level where it couldn't get any worse. There are also middle class families, which is "so-called" & life is still pretty hard for them. Also, if you specifically take time & explore further more, Vietnamese individuals are not what they appear to be. There are so much more things, but my time is limited hope that helped clearing up somewhat the knowledge about current lifestyle of the Vietnamese culture

I was there in 2000 and I'm going back there next month. It's not a place I'd want to live in year round.
