I think most teachers prefer Times New Roman for essays and such, as it seems to be the standard. But I'm starting to wonder what I've been missing out on; Garamond, Palatino Linotype, and Georgia are nice, too.

Which font do you most commonly use for your printed work?

By the way, I hope you don't say Arial or Tahoma or something, those are only good for computers, not printed work (which is why books, newspapers, magazines, etc. usually don't use them).

I personally like comic sans. However, I recently typed my master's thesis and was told that there are only 2 fonts that are commonly accepted. I hate to break it to you, but yes, they are Times New Roman and Arial. Many of the others are actually kind of hard to read. Especially when you are a teacher and are grading 90-130 papers.
