A shiv is a makeshift knife used to stab people. The word is often associated with weapons that inmates make out of whatever they have available (like the sharpened end of a toothbrush) in prisons.

I'm assuming that this is what you meant since you didn't capitalize the word "shiv" as a proper noun to indicate that shiv is a name. This also isn't in the religion and spirituality section so I'm guessing that you aren't asking about a Hindu god.
Hope this helps.

Lord Shiva is considered the demi-god in charge of the mode of ignorance; sometimes seen as the god of destruction and transformation. Some consider him the supreme Self and Lord of all; others consider him the foremost and greatest devotee of Sri Krishna.

Vishnu is in charge of the mode of goodness, and is the preserver.
Brahma is in charge of the mode of passion, and is the creator.
Shiva is in charge of the mode of ignorance and is the destroyer.

Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Adi Purusa, the first and original Person who sports in the groves and bowers of Vrindaban with His cowherd girlfriends, the gopis, and his boyfriends the gopas.
