If he meows when you touch his legs that probably means he that his legs hurt. There could be so many reasons why he couldn't use his back legs- Did he get hurt? Why was he chewing at his back end? It could be something simple like hemorrhoids or a parasite, but it could also be a pinched nerve, injury, etc. Take him to the vet this morning as soon as they open if your not close toa 24hour vet. Poor kitty he needs some medical attention definitely.

Get him to the vet immediatly!!! My old cat had the same problem, she ended up haveing a blood clot in her hind legs. The vet told me if she made it through the weekend she would be paralyzed but woul be ok, she didn't make it. The best bet if it is something that can not be fixed (like a pinched nerve) would be to put him down. I wish now that we would have so she wouldn't have been in pain.

It is very important you get to the vet immediately! Cats can get a problem called saddle thrombus, which is a blood clot that blocks off all blood flow to the rear legs. It is usually caused by underlying heart disease, usually you dont see any symptoms previous. This is an extremely painful condition, with a very poor prognosis. The best chance he has is starting him on blood thinners as quickly after it happened as possible. If left untreated, he may start to have breathing problems as well, and is at risk of throwing more clots to other areas of his body. I am not trying to scare you, but I want you to understand how very critical this situation is, it cannot wait.

Take your cat to the vet immediately. My cat is also sick, I took her yesterday. She can't use her right legs properly anymore and this is probably due to a tumor, swelling in bone marrow or something else in the brain.
If you wait too long it can be too late.

Good luck

the cat needs the vet now!!

cats can purr out of pain,it help to cool the body in case of fever.the longer he can use his back legs, the paralysis's may become permanent, also if your cat has a very runny nose,it means that your cat is very sick.
