what you need to do is split the room using half wallpaper half paint. a horizantal striped wallpaper incorparating the colour of your sofa and magnolia. paint magnolia first from the ceiling down just pass the halfway mark and then apply your selected paper to the bottom half of the room,as a guide use the height of your sofa to how high you need your paper to come up to. to finish the job off apply a matching boarder, it will neaten up the top half of the wallpaper and give a professional finish.
ps, you get 4 drops out of a roll of wallpaper by using this method you will get 8, plus saving money....

There are only really two other colours to go with burgundy, apart from cream. One is green and the other is gold. I would not paint the walls with any other colour other than cream, but use the burgundy/gold or Burgundy/green for your curtains and other soft furnishings.

I’m a guy that knows nothing about interior design but since you have rich colorful furniture I think white or off-white walls would be appropriate. Put the focus on the furniture, I can’t mentally imagine any wall color that wouldn’t be too busy. Perhaps a shade of yellow or something light in color not to overwhelm. Anyways good luck =)

A difficult colour like red should be surrounded by neutral colours, so I wouldn't paint a solid colour. It will make the room look very small.

If u can afford to, just have tetured walls, in neutral shades, like grey, or light, very pale gold/lemon.
he walls should be a light colour to offset the sofas rich colour.

I recommend either tan or a light pastel green. My living room is the light green and looks fantastic with a burgundy chair that I have.
