Well what alse can i say , not much but if you are planing to stay here there are going to be some things that you might not like , for example food or the way they use to look to foreigners or treat them a kind of uncoprehensive racism at least 4 me , not that they treat me bad but anyway , there are nice ppl and bad ppl like in any other place in the earth , well wish to you good luck if you came here and if you want me to help you in here just contact me to my email ad.
Oh and to answer to the last coment , yes they do eat dog meat , not everybody just some ppl and it's kinda more a religious matter, and you can easily find that meat on the local markets more like in Chongyangni's or some others , and for the cat coment , no they do not eat cat .

First, klaxairport is wrong. Korean's (some not all) do indeed comsume dog...'nuff said there. To your question, travelling in South Korea is fun, exciting, exhilarating and makes you crazy all at the same time. There are many places to see and go. My best advice is to keep an open mind, relax and do not most of all do not be in a hurry to get anywhere. Outside Seoul, transportation is a bit different but look at your travels as an adventure not a journey. Good Luck and Enjoy!

Not as difficult as you might imagine, even by yourself. The big cities are very developed and sophisticated, and not a million miles I would imagine from the metropolises of sky scrapers and highways you would get say in America (From what I've seen in the movies at least). Trains and coaches across this relatively small nation are first rate, along with the added bonus of English being widely displayed, and in Seoul at least, many speaking English as well. But like many places, if you want to see real life at all levels, you have to go to the countryside and small towns away from the capital. There are many regional variations, accents, traditions, rivalries; the landscape is very mountainous, the coasts are spectacular for example. The food is a well kept secret of wonder (unless perhaps in America Korean food is better known, because it certainly isn't here in the UK). You will however be stared at in smaller places, with bemusement rather than malice, because there are very very few ethnic minorities in South Korea, and the few white faces you'll see will be in Seoul or Busan (usually American teachers). My tip is Gyongju, the Egypt Bar, where the hostelry and kindness shown towards me won't be forgotten.

It's not as hard as you might think. You can most often find someone to help you who speaks English. They like to practice too, so just open up a map anywhere in Seoul and stand there looking confused and within 20 seconds, someone will ask you if you need help. Street crime is practically non-existent and I've walked right through anti-US protests without ever being hassled. Actually, they thought it pretty amusing to hand me the anti-US leaflets they had.
The public transportation is quite good and relatively cheap. I lived here for nearly 10 years before I finally got a car. Even taxis are pretty inexpensive.
I would absolutely recommend the Lonely Planets guide to S Korea. They are the best travel books, in my opinion and full of helpful, interesting and very useful information.

15 April is the birthday of Kim Il-sung, the eternal president of North Korea. (definite, heavily. even in spite of the undeniable fact that he died in 1994, he continues to be president.) If North Korea is going to do something to impression South Korea militarily, it would want to be on that day. on the different hand, North Korea has always considered South Korea a puppet regime of the U. S. and can want to like to dismiss what it considers the illegitimate authorities of South Korea and negotiate without delay with the U. S.. The nuclear danger, in spite of the undeniable fact that empty, has were given the interest of the U. S.. there is no opt to attack South Korea. The danger is adequate. Come and visit. in spite of takes position, it will be an attractive time to be the following.
