Do not be misled by Satan as he is trying to trick and distract you from the LORD and SAVIOUR Jesus Christ who is calling to us but we do not hear. Practice Tae Kwon Do or Aikido. Not other martial arts that will hurt somebody. I love you all. AMEN

From what I understand, Christians historically have never been slouches when it comes to the art of killing and war.

I love you too. :P

I take this being very offending because just because we know martial arts it doesn't mean that we are out to hurt someone. My mother is a strong believer in Jesus and the Lord and we go to mass every week, I am an altar server, and I am going to be confirmed in a few weeks. Tae Kwon Do has taught me to be a better person. In fact I know a priest that took Tae Kwon Do at our academy and made it all the way to Black Belt. You obviously do not understand anything about Martial Arts cause you would not say that. That is like saying that cops are being pulled towards the devil since they know some self defense and have a gun. I know Jesus Christ and I feel that I am not going against God but making myself a servant for him by being able to defend others who can not. I worship God and practice Martial Arts, and I think this goes for most martial artists, we hold very strong beliefs that help us begin to grow stronger with any religion as well as ourselves. We do not train to hurt one another, but to protect ourselves and our family and friends from the people that want to hurt one another.

Your words are the words of a fool. What makes you think you know anything about the martial arts? You are speaking on a subject you know nothing about.
The martial arts existed before Christianity.
Turning the other cheek does not always work. If it was the solution to every conflict then the tyrants, warlords and oppressors would conquer the world. Choice of religion would then be gone.
God does not want us to be meek any longer, he wants each and everyone of us to stand up for justice and protect our brothers and sisters. Life is a gift from God so it should be protected and defended.
Martial arts gives us the tools to do that.

When your savior Jesus approached a temple full of people selling items and unfairly exchanging currency he became outraged. He did not turn the other cheek. Instead he picked up a stick and defended his father's house. He turned over there tables and physically forced them to leave.
Learn from your saviors example, turn your cheek if you are given a choice but draw the line and defend the right principle when the time comes.

I think the funniest part of the post is the endorsement of tae kwan do and aikido as peaceful arts. Apparently this person has never seen the peace Steven Seagal spreads through aikido in his movies.

Besides, we all know the church never advocated acts of violence. The Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials, etc. All clearly the product of martial arts.

The Christians have fought wars and killed, like the crusaders.
The Islamist have fought wars, the journey of prophet mohammed.
The buddhist have not fought any wars and i'm an atheist.

but What is your point of posting JesusDo on martial arts section my friend ????

i understand where you coming from. you have unconditional love for all the people in this world, but lemme tell you something. the situation that you're in right now is similar to a "Lost Sheep" that is waiting to be butchered on a wooden table. it's time to wake up. my prophecy will be fulfilled one day if you don't believe what i'm saying. trust me on this one.

If you are a natural person you should try cognitive behavioral therapy. It was the only thing that has helped me with my horrible health anxiety. Read here https://tr.im/Yj9i9

Your thinking determines your quality of life. Your thinking is what causes you these feelings:

Anxious, fearful, stressed or depressed
Constantly worried, or angry about something that is happening in your life
Struggling to overcome obsessive and negative thoughts.

If you change your thinking, you will change your life. This is the basic idea behind CBT for anxiety. The Cognitive part is where you learn nee methods and ways to change your same old habits and thinking patterns. If you keep thinking and expecting the worst – You will continue to suffer.

Get off your soap box, I teach and practice martial arts. Try looking up the kajukenbo prayer . Many of the arts have some form of spiritual or philosophical background. Just because we practice different arts from you does not mean we are running around trying to kill each other. I don't doubt your sincerety, but by Jesus' own words. "Remove first the shaft from thine own eye before removing the fleck from thine neighbors."

God bless you

just goes to show how unenlightened you are. My teacher has taught me that the very first thing I do in any violent situation is to run away. If that doesn't work then you ONLY do what is necessary to stop the fight. Learning about jesus has not stopped millions of people from being victimized every year. My art is for SELF DEFENSE and enlightenment - not to go around beating people up, and its sad that you think thats all we do.

Haven't you ever heard of:
"JUDO FOR JESUS"
and some of the other similar programs out there?

I do not practice martial arts in an attempt to learn how to hurt people... I practice martial arts in an attempt to "Make your body a temple unto the Lord."

You really should make an attempt to find out what something is all about before you condemn it due to ignorant, ill-informed and INCORRECT assumptions.

I train to protect myself and to learn about the body that God gave me. I teach in a church. I do not teach my students to hit and hurt people, I teach them to protect themselves. Whether you care to admit it or not, letting someone hit you is not glorifying God or Jesus Christ in any way. Letting a door hit you in the face does not glorify God or Jesus Christ in any way. Protecting yourself from either, and doing it in a way that does not endanger yourself or your opponent is the way to do it.

If you think martial arts is learning to hurt people, I would suggest you open your eyes and ears, so you can see and listen to the great Shephard and the words of God that said, "Judge not, least you be judged." Peace, the goal of all true martial artists, be with you.

I'm willing to bet money that more acts of violence have been committed in the name of God than in the name of martial arts.
