First of all, all break ups hurts. Reason being when something ends, whether its relationships, marriages or even lives, people will tend to think of the past that has happened between them. Memories may be the good or the bad. Either way, people will miss these times.
For this case, guys, or even girls, especially teenagers, will try to find a way to forget these memories. So they turn to thinking negative. they will start saying their ex(s) are all useless and stuff.
Another reason possibly is because of ego. guys especially have bigger ego than girls. Therefore they say such things to their friends hoping they would fall for it and make it seem as though it is the girl who is at loss from the break up.
So my advice is, be sincere, stay honest and have a blessfull relationship. Take care.

Better question is...what does this say about him? There's 2 ways of looking at this...
1. It's obviously a pattern that he chooses to repeat, typically signaling that he's a loser himself since water does seek it's own level. Definately a red flag.
2. If he's still feeling anger over previous relationships, then he's definately got some deep insecurity issues. If in doubt, see answer 1.

Maybe he has the problem, Give you an example, if Burger King, McDonalds, and Wendy's always gets your order wrong and can't satisfy you, then chances are maybe your ordering some complicated sh*t, and you have expired coupons and your trying to pay with Canadian money, so Taco Bell probaly can't help you either. Another thing a guy has to like women for relationships to work and to be bitter to all of your ex girlfriends(unless they have him on child support) is unusual, maybe he doesn't like women.

Probally because he got all the use out of them that he needed. Useless is a term guys use for a girl they're done sleeping with. When you cease to interest him he will kick you to the curb and you'll be "useless" too.

He wants the girl that he is with at the present time to feel like she is useful as opposed to the useless ex.

Depends if they broke up with him or not. If they broke up then its because hes embarased that he was dumped by a girl and to let out his frustration he will make up loads of things that are probbaly rubbish to make himself feel better.
