Congratulations, you are one millionth person to ask this question. Just an hour or so ago this question was asked and I am cutting and pasting an answer from a Y!A avatar named CJ:

QUOTE
But here's where the world has a misconception about Christians.... They think that because a Christian believes that the only way to Heaven is through Christ, that they are "intolerant" and "hate filled". The world thinks that because a Christian obeys the Word of God and rejects what God says is evil, ie... .abortion, homosexuality, false religions, etc, that they are being "hate filled". If a Christian speaks out against anyone who blasphemes their Lord and Savior, the world immediately claims that Christian is full of "hate".

A Christian listens to what the Word of God says. They love what God loves, and despises the things God despises. We're not answerable to the world. We are answerable to God. And Jesus said, "....the world will hate you, for My names sake." And we accept that. It sure is ringing true moreso today.

My question to you..........what are your motives for asking this question of Christians? Are you trying to make a case for them being "hateful". If so, you failed. END QUOTE

Christians are supposed to love their neighbor and their enemies, but sometimes love demands that you teach the ignorant, admonish the sinners and this could be experienced as hateful by others, it's tough love.
