I think that I am known on here by someone it's not nice to know that your answers are being checked and it makes me feel like I am being watched although I don't know the name they use so what would you do

It's a really good question. There's no privacy on the internet. Especially yahoo! answers. Mind you, I don't help the matter by posting my real picture...okay that's a really dumb thing to do. It is a little creepy, and if you find someone you know on here too that could be really awkward. People use yahoo! answers to get away from normal life and "retreat" to a different world where you can meet new people, get some insight, perhaps be a little silly and possibly help some people along the way. I'd hate to think I was being watched on here. Thankfully, I have the common sense not to put my real name on here.

I had the same problem when i first started using this site, I was convinced that there was someone i knew in here so i asked them , by e-mailing them which they didn't like, but then i realised that this covers most parts of the world and there is a lot of people using very similar names or even exactly the same. I wouldn't worry to much if anyone asks you any thing you don't want to answer , just keep your e-mail hidden, you could have the same name as 100 other users! hope this helps .

I would feel the same way. Although you may be getting a bit paranoid, you may not be either. Perhaps if you compared the answers to the questions you have posted and see that there is one person who is answering all the same questions you can monitor if they continue to do so and if it doesn't stop then you can report it. But you can also change your name and avitar and start over again.

You can stop using your present account and open another account with a different name and a different e-mail address. It's not that hard to create a new e-mail account at hotmail.com or at some other place.
My anonymity on the iternet is what allows me to speak freely. If I felt that people could find out what I say and use it against me, then I would have been a lot more careful about what I say and perhaps I would have ended up not saying much at all.

I hope you find a solution to your problem. If you do as the other answerers say it may make you feel better to be anonymous again. However, I don't think you have any reason to worry about your answers. You seem like a perfectly intelligent person to me be proud of your opinions they are yours and yours alone that is what makes us individual.

Don't put anything down you feel uncomfortable with people seeing be genaral rather then specific. Its unlikely in less you use you name as your ID that anyone can be 100% certain they know you.
Best thing is not to worry. It is probably paranoia. I have been concerned about giving to much information out about myself just in case anyone I know uses the site.

I understand what you're saying because questions can be pretty private when you're just seeking advice, etc., and you don't want anyone to know...my suggestion is you open a new account entirely and don't use your name or avatar... It wouldn't do any good to change your avatar here in case they've answered one of your questions (then it would be easy to find you)...

They are a bit pathetic if they are checking up on you, it's only a forum, noones business what you talk or think about, do want you want girl! And if you feel someone has tracked you down just change your email and avatar thing so it doesnt actually resemble you.

Don't worry. How can they prove anything. They've obviously got a lot of time on their hands if they are motivated to do so ... and what are they going to do with the information anyway. I wouldn't let on in any way and that should keep them guessing. They sound pretty petty.

If the situation is worrying you then the best solution is to change your name and avatar or possibly a new account altogether.
