A male child has to have a Y chromosome and a woman can only provide an X chromosome. How did Mary conceive a male human child if there was no male human involved in his conception?

Also, God isn't human, so I don't think he is made up of chromosomes.

I'm asking this question hypothetically as I don't believe Jesus was the son of God, or that God even exists (certainly not in the biblical sense, anyway). I'm just curious as to how it can be explained.

They didn't know about chromosomes when the Bible was written, and no blood tests can be performed now. The faithful can then believe whatever they want about it. Remember, Jesus did have a brother, and it would have been easy to check his Y chromosome to see who the real father was, if only we had a blood sample of both.

I think you are limiting the Living God when you ask such a question. If God Almighty created the world and everything in it, surely providing Mary with the so called Y chromosome (whatever that is) would be a minor thing for God to do.
The question that may be asked is " how did God provide Mary with such a chromosome?" And the answer to that would be the same way he provided manna for the children of Israel in the wilderness, or, he did it the same way he provided breath for your and me.

no longer that that's proper.... however the Y chromosome initially got here from a mutated X chromosome. that may no longer making an allowance for nevertheless the sheer volume of bullsh!t that has been equipped into the Y chromosome over the generations. Its only purpose is to code for male bits to override the female default. something of that is no longer had to any extent further and as such has crammed up with "junk DNA" ... It takes extremely a protracted time to try this to the quantity that the favourite Y chromosome has it, so it may no longer ensue interior of one technology. yet my bets are that if Mary had incredibly have been given it on with the G-guy... that Jesus would in actuality have been an X0 .... i.e. a nil.5-woman with Turner Syndrome. =P O'direction.. if Jesus had vampiric behavior and drank of guy-blood in the time of his early existence, there ought to have been adequate testosterone in his device to restoration the subject.

Do you think that God can create an entire universe (along with the world's first male + chromosomes) but he can't provide Mary with it?

He had to be male so he could be an exact duplicate of Adam. The Y chromosome came from the one who originally created it.

The great thing about religion is that whenever something pops up that could never happen in real life, here's what you say
"God did it" or "God wanted it that way"
See? Problem fixed! Now go back to believing in Jesus and faeries and all that fun stuff!
...or, you could start to think a little more critically about the makings of the universe.

It's a miracle. It doesn't follow the natural laws, God can work miracles and He still does every day when the bread and wine upon His altars are changed into His body and blood.

God did it.
If you need to dress that up a little: Deus ex machina.
If you believe in God, God could do it. If you don't, then Mary was an unwed mother who stuck to her story.

......with that said......you just answered a question for thousands. Since God is the father of Jesus........then I guess God is a male....which has been debated by many.

Jesus was conceived of the Spirit, it was a miracle. Just as all His creation.
