Internet explorer crashes sometimes, I can only have a total of 65 seperate IE or windows explorer windows open at a time (OS imposed limitation in XP)

Plus, I cannot remove & reinstall IE if something goes wrong or I get spyware. I have been looking for an IE replacement, but don't know what to get. In addition, IE gets annoying browser helper objects attached that sometimes bring in more spyware.

My searches get redirected, homepages hijacked.

Where is a freeware alternative to IE, and what is the best one to use? Is there one that I can have over 65 pages open at a time?
I need a faster web browser if possible, free, easy to use.

Thanks!

I like using Mozilla Firefox. you can open the windows in tabs. and i have tried opening about 20 tabs in 1 window, not counting the other windows i have opened (though i haven't really counted them to add up to 65).. anyway, mozilla doesn't get malware as much as IE (nothing's perfect), and it has updates, you could even install add-ons for it.

it's free at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

enjoy!

I've been using Firefox for a while. It's not perfect as some things don't work properly due to some web pages only being designed for IE, but they're pretty few and far between. Firefox uses far less resources and has heaps of add ons you can use if they suit you. Most techies recommend Firefox.
