I mean, if the child will be healthy and not suffereing from genetic disorders? What has been seen in cases like these as far as quality of baby and other complications are concerned?

Now how many people in this world have babies and mother and father are different ages?? Think sometimes. Both of your are in your twenties so there shouldnt be any complications due to age

Tell me your not serioussssssss! Do you think being sooo close to the cliff of "30 aaaaaggggghhhhhhh!" makes her prehistoric! Please--age difference is; as in "Spring/Winter" a 19yr. old with a 40 to 80 yr. old!! The effect being that people ogle you due to the extreme difference and wonder at you! I really doubt if that is the case! In fact down the road, she will look the younger! And it isn't time to worry about her "eggs" being half cracked or coddled yet either! And "quality" of the baby? What are you shopping for a ripe melon or in love?? Only God knows if the child will be alright! It can make it in perfect style and health all the way to delivery and then lose oxygen and be terribly affected, crippled or lose mental capacity! So ---the best laid plans of men are not often those that we wind up with. If people thought like you are no one would have come to America, gone out West, flown a plane or walked on the moon.

Age young or old does not mean there will be birth defects or complications. Only birth defect I can think of is stupidity on the side of the father, might want to have that checked out before you chose to bring a child into this world

Four years should make no difference whatsoever. The only cause for concern you might have is if you waited another 10 years before having children as the risk of complications increases as a woman approaches 40, but the difference in age between the two of you doesn't matter, you're both at a normal childbearing age anyway.

My husband and I are 12 years apart and it hasn't been a problem. (He is older.)

If your question was more, will there be complications due to your wife's age, it's highly unlikely, at least if you were to have a child in the next five to ten years. Instances of pregnancy complications are slim in women under the age of forty if I remember correctly. (And, it's possible to have a healthy baby at an older age as well)

If a 67 year old woman can give birth to a perfectly healthy baby then so can your wife. You act like 29 is over the hill.

genetic disorders doesn't come from the age difference between parents, it only has to do with there genes..your problem can only be answered by you or your wife like are you both physically, financially and mentally ready to have a baby, as far as the genetic side goes, that can be done by running tests..seek your doctor's opinion about that
