Ask them. Pick a public spot, such as a restaurant or coffee shop. Give them a picture so that they can recognize you.

Of if you're pretaining to meet someone in person, I'd meet at a public place and bring at least one friend with you. The last guy I met from the computer I went to his house!!! But it was cool because he's friends with my ex boyfriends brother and him. So I felt totally comfortable meeting him and going to his house... I was going to meet him at a public place then go back to his house but it was too cold out for him, lol.
But other than that, I've always met a guy from online in a public place with someone with me, always.
