Every once in a while I get sharp stomach pains that feel like someone is pulling down on the inside of my stomach. I have to bend down to keep the pain away, and I can't stand up straight or it will really, really, really hurt. Does anyone know what it is or what causes these pains?

I had this problem once. I had to keep holding my stomach. If you want to try...maybe painkillers can help.If you don't want to meddle around with pills, I suggest you control the pain and bend down a bit. If you do excessive excersises like ... about 50 sit-ups at one time it also might hurt. But if you don't feel that painkillers are safe, you might want to try seeing a doctor. If normal painkillers won't work you will have to ask the doctor for a mild one.See if that can help.

I'm sorry, I know how that hurts if it's what I think it is. Most likely gas. Get Gas-X or any other gas reliever. To prevent it from happening, make sure you drink enough water every day. There's tea called Laci LaBeau Dieter's Tea. When ever you have a day when you didn't go to the bathroom, make yourself a cup of that tea. This will prevent the gas from happening to the painful degree you're experiencing now.

If you can't get to the store to get Gas-X right now, this will help a little. Take about a cup of water, mix in 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda and drink the whole thing down fast. It tastes horrible. Very soon you'll burp and that will help, but you really need the Gas-X.

Most pain is from muscles that get knots called trigger points. The immediate cramp can be helped with a swig or two of molasses, most people use bananas as a maintenance, both contain the magnesium and potassium needed.
For more information on the muscles read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies (it teaches what to do)

Stomach pain or bellyache may be caused due to a problem in the organs in the abdominal region. The main organs in the abdomen are the digestive system consisting of the stomach, small and large intestines, the liver, the gall bladder , pancreas, the appendix and the kidney. Minor problems like gastroenteritis can cause severe pain, while fatal illnesses like cancer may cause only mild pain.
