Do you mean immunocompetence? If so, then HIV/AIDS immunocompetence refers to a funcional and effective immune system in a patient with HIV/AIDS. This is important because HIV/AIDS primarily affects T-cells of the immune system, rendering them unable to respond to even minor infections, thus putting the patient at life-threatening risk to even benign illnesses. As long as the patient is immunocompetent though, they can respond to infections.
